Description: This is a 1997 Spring Fashion issue of the W Men’s Portfolio. It was a supplement to the W Magazine. It is 63 pages and measures 10 X 12 inches closed. Due to it being 27 years old and the newsprint that they used to print it on, some pages have some slight yellowing on the edges. There are some small creases on the spine from the original shipping. Baseball legend Cal Ripkin is featured on the cover with a three page story inside. Written by Daniel Peres and a portraits by Nigel Parry. After the feature on Cal Ripkin, there are four fashion spreads. The first is titled “Lone Star” that is shot on location in Texas and showcases designers that offer clean, trim lines and muted colors. Photography is by Steven Sebring. It is ten pages. Following that is a feature titled “Beat Knits” that offers the coolest knits from Italian designers. It is photographed by Patrick Shaw and is eight pages total. Finally, there is “Swingers” that show you how to look when you swing. Icy colors, sleek tailoring and lots of attitude is the call here. “Swingers” is photographed by Michael Thompson. There is a lot more fashion council in this supplement that I haven’t covered in this description.
