Description: This is a vintage shopping bag with a stand-out, amazing design. It is from the incredible Wiener (Vienna) Secession Museum in Vienna, Austria and dates to about 1990. The black and white graphics are evocative of the work found in the building which is an exhibition space for art. It began as a showcase for the Secession movement which was founded in 1897. A group of Austrian painters, sculptors, graphic artists and architects banded together in protest to more traditional artistic styles. The group included Gustav Klimt and Josef Hoffman among others. The Secession building was designed as a venue for exhibiting their work. The building now embraces new art movements as well as the founders' works. The shopping bag was obtained in the gift shop of that building. It has survived in great condition but does have wrinkles from long storage. The bag is paper with paper handles. It is clean with no stains or soils. There are no tears. The bag measures 13.25 inches x 10 inches. The floor of the bag is 10 x 6 inches. This bag looks like one that could be found in the Cooper Hewitt collection! Ships with USPS Ground Advantage.
