VINTAGE RUSSWIN 7122 (0122) 2 1/2" BS ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/KEY (18072)Vintage: circa 1920: RUSSWIN # 7122 and/or # 0122 entry mortise lock and it comes with one functioning key. Works great. The 0122 is exactly the same specs as the Russwin 7122, the only difference being the composition of the faceplate; the 0122 is bronze and the 7122 is usually steel with a Japanned finish. Just to be clear, this one carries both markings! #7122 on the back of the face and # 0122 inside the lock. Both the 0122 and the 7122 were built with a 2 1/2" backset and with a 2 3/4" backset. This particular version of the 0122 has a 2 1/2" backset. The body of the lock clearly maker marked RUSSWIN one of America's many high quality manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th Century and early 20th Century. The lock is reversible, fully restored Dimensions as follows: FACEPLATE: Heavy steel faceplate with a great faded Japanned patina, measures 6 1/2" long and 1" wide and 1/8" thick.. DROP: The drop ( the distance from the center of the knob post hole up to the center of the round portion of the key hole) is 2 5/8". BOX: Box is 3 3/8" deep from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the back of the box and it is 4 1/2" top to bottom. SCREWS: Screws are on 5 3/4" centers. BACKSET: Backset (the distance from the front of the front plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2". KNOB SPINDLE or KNOB SHAFT: The lock is made for a 5/16" square pivot shaft.KEY: Comes with one key.REVERSIBILITY: The lock is reversible. If you need a strike plate or a split shaft or knobs, please let us know and we will try to find them for you and add to the auction amount, then include in the same mailing.
