Description: For sale is a vintage Lelandais Qualité Superieure Bb clarinet mouthpiece, labeled as "Martin Freres, Paris". Qualité superieure blanks made by Chedeville-Lelandais are among the most sought-after vintage blanks, thanks to the unique resonance characteristics of the excellent rod rubber. The sound projects effortlessly, and has a sweet, singing tone quality. This mouthpiece is about 70 years old! I refaced this mouthpiece to a medium facing with a 1.08 mm tip opening with medium facing length 35 (Brand scale). I recommend using #3 reeds, but your preference may vary. This mouthpiece came to me as a broken one, and I repaired the tip using another hard rubber mouthpiece (yep, totally worth it!). The repair blends in seamlessly and it holds strongly. The epoxy I used to attach the replacement part is actually harder than the mouthpiece itself.
