Description: Vintage Novelty Alarm Clock with an Elephant with automated eyes which move side to side with the ticks. Makers name on the front “Hero”. This clock needs work. The knob that sets the alarm is missing and the “key” that winds the alarm is missing. The knob that winds the hands turns the hands but also turns the alarm dial at the same time? Because of this I cannot test the alarm mechanism. The alarm spring will wind up, but when trying to unwind the “key” to put back on the the clock winder, the alarm spring loosens and does not stick - could have a loose or broken spring. The clock can tick for a few seconds when wound and the eyes do move. There is general aged wear to the clock with scuffs and scratches to the paint of the case and some pitting to the chrome surround - please see photos. Clock has been in storage and not in use for a number of years so is in need of a service and needs work. Clock has not been tested and is sold “As Is” and needs work.
