Description: Vintage Herter's 1960s Fixed blade hunting knife with Sheath Herter's was was a Waseca, Minn located, mail order sporting goods company that manufactured and sold hunting and fishing equipment. Their yearly catalog was over 3/4 inch thick and often included audacious claims and bombastic descriptions including the one for this knife referring to slotted thumb rest on the blade. "It wasn't one of those dime store cowboy guards, but a real honest thumb rest". The gun control act spelled the end to Herter's since the could no longer sell guns or ammo via the mail.
