Description: Beautifully crafted vintage icon from Greece made with solid silver on wood. Handmade with a painted background featuring the face of the Madonna and the face of the baby Jesus. This hagiography is an exact copy of Byzantine art and measures about 6.5” x 8”. It is signed in the front and certified in the back and is in very nice vintage condition. Blessed by monks at the Mt Athos monastery in Greece- also known as “the garden of the Virgin Mary”. This piece, among a few others, came from the estate of an older priest who happened to be a good friend of mine. He wanted to spread the healing and love and faith- it was important to him. he travelled a lot to different monasteries and church he’s and had many relics and items that were blessed at My Athos in Greece and at the Vatican in Rome among other places. I want some of the items I received from him to find new homes to protect and comfort and contribute to good causes as well. Please see all photos and ask any questions.
