Vintage Continental Women’s Ivory/gold Satin Wedding/event Gown Sz 10(S) Used

Description: Fabulous looking piece in good condition. This is a very unusual wedding/event dress with a form fitted bodice and a full skirt. The top sleeves are made to sit just off the top edge of the shoulder. They have an elastic hidden underneath and strong boning on the top of the sleeve then the rest of the sleeve is very fitted, there’s a snap at the bottom to close it around the wrist. The bodice of this dress is lined and the skirt is not .this dress was most probably worn with a full petticoat underneath. Still this fabric is a stiff satin brocade in an ivory color with gold threads throughout in a floral pattern, and it has a stiffness to it so it gives the skirt some body even without a petticoat. There are no content labels in this garment. it’s hard to say exactly what the fabric is, but definitely needs to be dry cleaned. The bodice has some boning and there is a center back zipper. There are also small pads that have been tacked into the front bust. It’s hard to show exactly how pretty the top of this dress would be on because the mannequin does not have shoulders. The bust measures 33 inches , the waste measures 28 inches and the hips are really full. The length of the dress is approximately 55.25 inches. This dress is listed as a 10, but that is a vintage size and this is more equivalent to a small in today’s sizing so do please pay attention to the measurements. Although there is a touch extra in the side seams , so it’s possible that it could be let out a small amount on the side of the bodice. this is such a romantic princess like piece. It has a medieval Renaissance look to it.
