Description: Up for sale is this vintage 5” x 14” eight-lug Rogers Powertone chrome-over-brass shell snare drum, c. 1969, Dayton, Ohio. It features an inner shell sticker showing serial no. 18823, a smooth-working Swiv-o-Matic strainer, an internal tone control, and eight self-aligning Rogers beaver tail lugs. The counter hoops are triple-flanged steel. This drum was purchased at the legendary Franks Drum Shop (worn-away sticker still visible on shell –see photo) and is in excellent condition. The shell and lugs exhibit some superficial scratches and light nicks; the counter hoops show some wear from playing (see photos). Also included in this purchase is a Pure Sound 14” 16-strand snare wire. A vintage classic, this drum has never sounded anything less than great for me in any playing situation.
