Description: Vintage Belair AM Transistor Radio, Classic 1950's, Full Function, 8 Transistors Here is a fully functioning vintage Belair portable transistor radio from 1958.Classic 8 transistors provide "high sensitivity" for great sound and tuning; AM band only, with CONELRAD notches for that impending Air Raid warning we were all waiting for..... *Full grain saddle-stitched cowhide case, dual earphone jacks (not stereo), dial tuning and volume, leather carry handle, and snap closure back. Interestingly, the leather case is actually an integral part of the radio and not just a cover; the internal chassis is attached to the leather via screws and glue! Operates on four standard "C" cell batteries (small flashlight size). Six AM tuned circuits, 3" permanent magnet dynamic speaker.Manufactured by the CBC Company (Charles Brown Co.) of Tokyo and branded for import by Belair Enterprises of Hawthorne CA.
