Vintage 1983 Twirly Curls Barbie, Used And Restored Doll, Restyled

Description: I found this 1983 Twirly Curls Barbie at the bottom of a pile at a flea market. I was drawn to the simplicity of her face and her long hair, though it was matted. I worked out all of the matted hair and gave it a fresh wash and reset. I washed the body and face too, and I uncovered some damage to the doll (scratches, discoloration), so please see the photos for those details. The click articulation in her knees works. Her legs are a little bit sticky feeling. From the research that I've done, some of the older dolls develop sticky legs due to the plasticizers aging overtime. While there is no permanent fix to this, you can apply baby powder or corn starch lightly to the legs when dressing them. This makes it easier for the clothing to move over the rubber/sticky legs. I applied a small amount of baby powder to her legs prior to dressing her. This doll is really for display only due to her age, though being gently handled for dressing/posing by a collector is fine. I don't recommend any dolls prior to the 90's for children as toxic materials were used at the time (these including lead and cadmium). This doll has been redressed in a modern top and shoes with a vintage skirt from a different doll set. This listing includes the doll and her clothing/shoes.
