Description: Very Rare 18th ~ 19th Century Korean MinHwa Folk Hand Painting Old Man & Tiger using Natural Pigment on Jangji Paper framed under glass. The frame is NOT old was most likely framed in Korea.Kept in storage for over 40 years. Age: 18th ~ 19th Century Joseon Dynasty Provenance: Private collection from South Korea, brought to the U.S. in 1980. Painter is unknown and most likely painted by an anonymous artist. Korean MinHwa or folk paintings were often painted by an anonymous artist. This beautiful painting is part of our remaining inventory from my parents Ho Park antique gallery in downtown Seattle, Washington opened 1980 ~ closed 1997. They brought over hundreds of hand paintings and other Asian antiques from Korea, Japan and China prior to their gallery opening in 1980. This item was stored in a storage since 1997 so they are not always in clean. It's been collecting dust but I did clean up as much as possible without damaging the item. We will be making all of our items available at a very reasonable price as we go through our warehouse. Item is in good condition overall with wear, tear, scrapes, dents to frame, loss of wood to frame and back has a punctured hole . Please see photos as part of description.
