Description: Antique original BOLO knife scabbard - the knife is NOT included ! - METAL SHEATH ONLY Rare ‘ experimental ‘ steel sheath designed in 1918 to replace the problematic fragile wooden and canvas 1917 bolo sheath it looks unissued - Marked ‘ LF & C 1918 ‘ the leather hanger is clean , no stains or signs of use or wear there is only very minor / light paint wear along the edge of the scabbard throat There is a shallow dent at the tip -( this model usually has this dent , I believe it was intentionally done to keep the tip of the knife from rattling) the rest of the sheath looks clean and nearly unissued O.D. green painted ribbed steel 11” long it will fit a knife blade with a 10” blade many of these were re issued during WWII especially among the USMC island fighters DONT PASS IT UP ! scarce USGI trench knife / fighting knife sheath !
