Description: Tropical Park Post Parade Grandstand - Curt Teich 5A-H905 1935 Tropical Park opened in 1931 and closed in 1972. It was the first synthetic race track made of rubber from 3M, but the horsemen refused to run on it. It was on the inside of the dirt track, and many trainers declined to run on it. When Calder opened, Tropical Park closed. Now, they are both closed. Today, the site is a park. My pricing is done to sell the postcards, not keep them. I want to pass them on to people who enjoy collecting and are interested in the history of horse racing. My exclusive collection of over 2,700 postcards of horse race tracks and related subjects is not just a collection but a treasure trove for enthusiasts. It's a journey through time, featuring present-day tracks and those that are now just memories. Each postcard is a unique piece of history, a testament to the rich heritage of horse racing. I do my best with the scanning equipment to make an accurate scan, but this is only sometimes impossible. The postcard is in decent condition for its age but may have wear, tears, creases, dings, or other issues, as shown in the actual images of the item. The bottom line is that old postcards are, well, old postcards. The postcard may show erased pencil markings that will not be seen in scans (which drives me crazy about why dealers, over time, write on the postcards). Please note that the scan does not always show the edges accurately. Some minor spotting may not be displayed due to the scan being over-exposing. My pricing is based on the postcard, and I hope you find it reasonable. I have to charge for shipping because of the pricing of my postcards. I deeply appreciate your interest in my collection. If you decide to make multiple purchases, I will adjust the shipping cost and refund the balance. Your support is invaluable and means a lot to me. If you have any questions or need more information, please don't hesitate to message me. I'll be more than happy to assist you. The bottom line on selling these items is that my wife indicated to me in strong language, "What the ____ am I going to do with this stuff when you die"?
