Description: Trappers Cabin - Prison Folk Art. Hand made by an inmate in the Lebanon Correctional Facility in Ohio. The inmate's signature is at the bottom of the cabin as shown in the photos. The dimensions of this cabin are Length 11 inches, Height 6 1/4 inches, and Width 11 1/2 inches. This cabin was made with popsicle sticks, and tongue depressors cut to size, and all glued together. The popsicle sticks and items had to be cut with a small nail clipper, so you can imagine the time it took to make this! The silver pipe on the side is covered by aluminum paper from a wrapper. The darker brown on the cabin is stain from other inmate's used coffee grounds. Misc materials also found on the prison yard. It took this inmate quite a while to make this but he did so with precision. This looks nice in a selected place in your home. You can google this inmate by using his name, and read his history. He has been incarcerated for over 20 years, mostly in Indiana, and will be released in about 5 years. This inmate is doing well and is making use of his time to make these cabins and other items to raise money for his own commissary and help his initial release financially when he gets out. If you collect prison folk art, this is a great addition to your collection. "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Matthew 25:34-36
