The mating surfaces look like they were "smoothed" with a 40 grit belt sander but otherwise a fantastic little adapter. Little elbow grease and you are in business, it will need to be washed upon receipt as there is casting sand everywhere Cons: Mating Surfaces Pros: It Actually Fits Yes, I recommend this product. There is room for improvement Rated by John3127t on March 16, 2015 Summary: The machined surfaces are rough at the 4 barrel part that connects to the old 4 barrel manifold. it can cause vacuum leaks, if you use dry gaskets. My old Edelbrock, 4 barrel manifold has a much better machined surface, than the Vintage speed manifold. I used plain old vasaline on the gaskets to solve this problem. So far it seems to work ok.
