Description: The Rolling Stones1st Issue London Records 45-LON 9657 Vinyl, 7" 45 RPM, Single Country: US, Released: 1964 Bass Bill Wyman Drums Charlie Watts Guitar Brian Jones, Keith Richards Producer Andrew Loog Oldham Vocals Mick Jagger Notes Label variant - Not Fade Away on two lines.Original American issue on London purple and white label MEGA-RARE 1964 US ORIGINAL VERY FIRST AMERICAN STONES PICTURE SLEEVE SINGLE! "I WANNA BE YOUR MAN", WHICH WAS THEIR FIRST TRUE CHART HIT IN ENGLAND (WRITTEN BY LENNON-McCARTNEY) WAS ALSO ISSUED IN THE US AS THEIR DEBUT SINGLE IN 1964, WITH THE SAME B-SIDE, "STONED". THE LENNON-McCARTNEY MAGIC FAILED HERE, AND THE B-SIDE TITLE RAISED SOME EYEBROWS, SO THE UK FOLLOW-UP SINGLE, "NOT FADE AWAY", WAS COUPLED WITH "I WANNA BE YOUR MAN" AS THE FIRST AMERICAN SINGLE TO BE ISSUED WITH A PICTURE SLEEVE AND A BIG PROMOTIONAL PUSH. THIS WAS MUCH MORE SUCCESSFUL AS FAR AS RADIO PLAY WENT, ALTHOUGH THE PICTURE SLEEVE EDITION WAS ISSUED IN A VERY LIMITED RUN MAKING THIS SLEEVE NOW VERY RARE AND HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER. PLUS, WITH SO MUCH BLACK INK ON THE SLEEVE, THIS IS VERY PRONE TO WEAR RING. THIS COPY IS VERY NICE, IT HAS RECORD STORAGE IMPRESSION BUT NO ACTUAL WEAR RING! STILL OVERALL CLEAN, NICE AND FLAT, WITH A GORGEOUS 7". FOR LONDON PICTURE SLEEVES, ONLY "DANDELION" IS AS HARD TO FIND WITHOUT WEAR RING DUE TO SO MUCH BLACK INK. THIS IS A BEAUTY.
