Description: The Godfather 1902-1959, The Complete Epic (VHS - 3 Tape Set, 1990) - RARE Brand new and sealed. There are some sections of the shrink wrap that are ripped, but it has never been opened. See photos. The Godfather Epic is Francis Ford Coppola's chronologically edited version of The Godfather and The Godfather II. He also edited in scenes that were not included in the original edit of the movies. It shows the story from the first 2 Godfather films in chronological order from young Vito's escape from the Mafia in Sicily as a boy, to the evolution in the personality of his son Michael, from war hero to the cold, calculating leader of the Corleone family. It was originally done by Coppola when it aired for the first time on NBC in 1977. Coppola never was a big fan of re-editing his two masterpieces, but did so because he needed to raise money to make the film Apocalypse Now. This version was released on this 3 VHS set back in 1990. Because Coppola preferred the unedited individual movies, he refused Paramount's efforts to allow them to release the Complete Epic version on DVD or Blu-ray. As such, this is a very rare collection that was only on VHS making this a great collectible for movie buffs.
