Summer 1974 High Times One Dollar First Issue Plus Rare Early Issues 3-11

Description: This is for an original nice early collection of High Times magazines including the extremely rare 1.00 first issue from the summer of 1974. Not only do you get the first issue but also issues 3 through 11 for a total of 10 of the first 11 issues. The kicker is a piece of paper that was included in issue #3 stating that “Due to the unexpectedly large demand of High Times, we have exhausted our supply of High Times #2, The Harvest Issue. We hope however that you’ll find our alternate arrangement satisfactory.” The paper goes on to state that “two of your subscriptions will extend by one issue”. Not really sure if I would have settled for such a deal but before the internet, all you could do was write a letter and hope someone would actually read it. You could do that or try calling and be put on hold for hours waiting to speak to someone (when out of area calls could cost more than 1.00 per minute). So you will receive the first issue along with issues 3 through 11 with an excuse from the publisher why you don’t have issue #2. All of the issues are nice and complete with the first issue being one of the best with no creases or folds along with the spine being nice and tight. A tough to find collection with the High Times letter being probably as rare as some of the magazines. The magazine was light years ahead of its time featuring articles on music, sex, alternative life style and of course, weed.
