This is easiest to do with the use of the Trainer Lock Pin to safely set the release to you. To reset the hook, push the thumb barrel forward and when drawing your bow hold the thumb barrel down to engage the safety. Once at full draw, release the safety and begin adding weight by using back tension and pull through the shot. The release will fire as soon as you overcome the firing differential. Activation tension and Firing Differential: Activation tension is the amount of pressure required to activate the release while at full draw. Firing Differential is the difference between the holding weight of your bow and your activation tension. If your holding weight is 17lbs and you require 19lbs of activation tension for the release to fire, the firing differential is 2lbs. Setting the Activation Tension to You: You will need a 5/64 allen key for this adjustment. The screw to adjust the activation tension is located between the thumb barrel and finger piece. To increase the activation tension, turn the screw clockwise in 1/8 turn increments. To decrease the activation tension, turn the screw counterclockwise in 1/8 turn increments. Test the release between each 1/8 increment and repeat these steps until you find the settings right for you. Because majority of archers have a holding weight between 10 and 20 pounds, we set the activation tension to 17 pounds at the factory. CAUTION: It is very important to maintain firm rearward pressure to the safety lever during the entire draw cycle. Taking pressure off this lever during the draw cycle will result in accidental firing and can result in injury to you and others and or property damage. Be careful not to adjust the tension so light that the release goes off accidentally. This release can be set so light that the slightest action can activate it. Accidental activation can cause serious injury to yourself and others. After each adjustment, test the setting with caution and attention to possible accidental activation for at least 10 consecutive shots
