See/hear this guitar: https://youtu.be/yiQ-df03Bvc?si=GeRj9LpWBJ85TU-o This is a solid body electric guitar began its life as a “Fender Squire Vintage Modified Jazzmaster”. I had the idea to convert this offset body type guitar into a design-hybrid that integrates certain design features from another guitar brand’s famous off-set body guitar design (Gibson Firebird). This is one of three guitars I have converted to these design specifications. This specific guitar is #1 of 3, the one I kept for myself when I sold the other two a couple of years ago. It is a distinctive looking guitar, easy and fun to play. Condition issues in photos: #3 small rosewood loss/chip adjacent to nut at top edge of neck. No affect in playability. #5 new black dot markers installed on top of neck up to 15th fret. Frets 17, 19, and 21 are made with black Sharpie pen. Easily removed with alcohol. Also white box indicates area of fine scratches on pickguard below pickup selector switch. #8 indicates a patched drill hole made when working on the reconfiguring of the guitar, possibly from mounting the pickups in the new pickguard. Does not affect playability. #’s 9, 10, 11 shows various fine scratches, dings in the finish, general expected wear from a ten year old guitar body. #12 center screw hole from previous tailpiece/bridge combo. Upper tail piece post shows extra area drilled out of new pickguard to accommodate bridge post. These are the changes I made to the original Squire Jazzmaster: · Added left-handed maple neck (Asia) with rosewood fretboard for reverse headstock. · Added fret marker dots on top edge of neck. · Added stop tailpiece--Low E string length = 33.5”; High E String Length 29.5”. · Added Tune-o-matic style bridge—angled and intonates beautifully. · Changed volume and tone control configuration from stacked pots to straightforward one volume and one tone control. Upgraded pots. · Changed control knobs to Tele style. · Changed pickguard to black. · Changed pickup covers to black. · Replaced chrome pickguard screws from chrome to black. · Painted headstock black and added curvilinear design form. · Added handmade curvilinear blonde poplar veneer to pickguard using 3M VHB adhesive. · Gator Hardshell Case purchased for this guitar included. The specifications of the original guitar that did not change. · 2-color Sunburst · Alder body Polyester finish Jazzmaster body style Vintage Modified Series Maple neck 21 Medium Jumbo frets 25.5" scale length 1.650" nut width Chrome hardware Chrome Vintage Style tuning machines Duncan Designed JM-101B single-coil Jazzmaster bridge pickup with Alnico V magnets Duncan Designed JM-101N single-coil Jazzmaster neck pickup with Alnico V magnets 3-position toggle control: Position 1. bridge pickup, Position 2. bridge and neck pickups, Position 3. neck pickup This is a fun guitar to play. It has easy action and the strings bend and sustain very well. The new electronics and wiring and complete set up were performed by Brooklyn Guitar Works here in NYC. Some natural play/handling wear/scratches in the usual places. Issues in the finish and pickguard from installing the bridge are shown in close-up photos.
