Description: Soviet Russian USSR WWII medal Order of the Red Star with serial number in the 1.9-million range awarded in 1946 to Captain 3rd Rank Pyotr Fyodorovich Lazarichev, an officer of the NKVD’s naval forces, for his accomplishments as Instructor for “Special Subjects” at the Black Sea Fleet Signals Training Detachment School. During WWII, Lazarichev trained more than 200 radio operators, many of whom went on to earn awards in the course of their service. Lazarichev’s service in the NKVD’s naval forces is attested by the citation for his Combat Service Medal, awarded for long service. A service record is appended, which shows that Lazarichev at one point was in charge of distribution of secret and top-secret manuals. It seems very likely that his teaching was geared toward training operatives who would make amphibious landings behind enemy lines. Lazarichev served until 1955 and likely accumulated a second Order of the Red Star and an Order of the Red Banner for long service. He also earned the Medal For the Defense of the Caucasus. Condition is as seen in the images. Enamel replaced on the 3 o’clock ray, and a chip at the end of the 5 o’clock ray The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents, obviously!
