It commemorates the 11th Commonwealth Games which was held in Edmonton, Alberta, August 3-12, 1978. The reverse design features the symbol of the Games in the center and the official symbols of the ten sports which were featured in the Games along the perimeter. The obverse was modified for this issue. It's a beautiful coin, and comes in a clear plastic holder in a clamshell case and the official Canada Mint cardboard sleeve. All are shown in the photographs. The content is 50% silver and 50% copper in this coin.
