About the ArtistIlga Reke Andersons (1926 – 2022) was born in Riga, Latvia, arriving as a refugee to Wisconsin in 1949. She received a teaching degree and master's degree from UW-Madison. She was a high school art teacher for thirty years in Oconomowoc, and a prolific artist. Her art was widely popular in the mid-west and are included in museums of Latvian culture.
