The pattern on this set is so interesting and provides a variety of shades of color from black to deep maroon to dark crimson to a pale gold and then a metallic gold. The finish is shiny but not glassy. The set includes the bowl and 5 spheres. My best estimation is that these are ceramic spheres hand-dipped to paint and glaze them. The bowl is about 10.25 inches in diameter across the rim and 3.25" tall. Each sphere is about 3" in diameter (roughly the size of a baseball or orange. **These are not perfect spheres, mind you; each features one side that was used to mold and glaze them and shows a hole and some imperfections/not spherical parts around the hole--these aren't flaws, only a part of how they are made. I mention this only to be clear and describe exactly so that you can know what to expect!** Very good condition-- overall great look; there is a bit of crazing (a pattern of tiny cracks) in the glazing (hehe); there is spot of hairline fractures on one sphere but this doesn't affect the appearance and sphere is still structurally strong.
