Description: Schmid PETER RABBIT Beatrix Potter BOOKENDS Vintage 1980'S ~ Chips Offered is a set of Schmid bookends depicting Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit. The bookends are hand painted, made in Japan in 1980. They stand almost 6 inches tall. There are many little flecks of paint loss and a couple of chips. I tried to photograph most of the areas. Most of the loss is on the Peter side bookend. Mother rabbit has a scuff where books rubbed and a few tiny flecks of loss. Peter has a corner chip and numerous flecks. Since it is hand painted perhaps a clever do-it-yourselfer can touch up the losses. The Peter half of the pair sounds like there is loose sand moving inside when it is shake.
