Description: This scarce 1900s "Old Tar" hinged litho tobacco tin's lid and interior are in good condition with no rust, a small crease on the lid edge and minor age related paint chips and scratches. The sides are in fair condition no dents or rust and more paint scrapes and chips. The hinge is in excellent working order. The tin measures 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 6". This very attractive white and black tin was made by the Ginna Lithographers & Company, New York, NY. It features very detailed, elaborate graphics including a portrait of an old sailor as well as advertising for cut cavendish smoking tobacco. The tobacco was manufactured by the American Eagle Tobacco Company, Detroit, MI in Factory 8, 1st District, MI.
