Vastly superior to standard bonded ivory found on factory and other aftermarket Ivory grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative ivory material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory. It is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat. Unlike the commonly available “solid yellow” plastic grips which detract from the appearance and handling of a revolver or firearm, our Aged Ivory grips are made out of the best components available, incorporate natural materials, and feature a genuine, authentic patina. Their authenticity is so convincing that many experts cannot tell it apart from real Ivory. The difference is noticeable even in the photos, but is even more apparent in person. These grips feature authentic color mottling, variegation, and subtle wear marks as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. Our process utilizes concentrated UV light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), and in addition employing heat and pressure in a special controlled high oxygen-rich environment which accelerates the aging process. Not only does it look better to begin with, but will not chip, crack, or peel, like superficially applied surfaces.
