She is marked with: Robert Tonner's signature in ink, Ava Gardner by Robert Tonner, UFDC Rng 8 2002, AP #4. This doll is an artist's proof and she was in the collection of one of the club officers. She is wearing her original cocktail dress, netting petticoat, pantie hose, necklace, gloves, hat and shoes. The shoes that actually went into production had a thicker strap. Dress is tagged. Glued on wig. Beautifully painted movie star face. This regional is still spoken about because it was so outstanding and the doll is gorgeous. Excellent condition. No box or other accessories. Very limited edition was made of this doll and this is a low number of the artist's proofs made.
