This postcard shows a nice view of small town in Upstate NY. At center is a drug store with a sign that reads James L Derby Drugs & Wall Paper. To the left is a building with a wooden striped barber pole. Down the street to the right is a building with the side wall that is painted and reads Wiley's Club House Cafe. The card front is hand printed and reads The J.L. Derby Drug Store Lestershire NY. Lestershire is the pre-1916 name of what is today known as Johnson City NY. It is located in New York's Broome County and was incorporated in 1892. The town changed its name to Johnson City in 1916 in honor of George Johnson who led the Endicott Johnson Corporation. The card back is printed and reads Beach-Series Post Card Genuine Hand-Finished Photograph, Made At Remsen NY. The card back is divided and is not postmarked. Condition is good to very good as shown in the scan. Guaranteed vintage and original. The watermark is not on the postcard you are buying here.
