Rare Vintage Alfred Hitchcock “To Catch a Thief” German AO Movie Poster R-65

Description: Vintage and very rare German AO movie poster (34” x 47”) for a 1965 re-release of “To Catch A Thief”, one of director Alfred Hitchcock’s most stylish, romantic and thrilling cinema masterpieces. This Paramount Pictures suspenseful and romantic thriller starred Cary Grant as an ex-jewel thief/cat burglar who is the wooing the worldly and glamorous Grace Kelly on the French Riviera. The costumes were by Edith Head, including Kelly’s memorable and iconic gold lamé gown worn for the film’s costume ball. The film won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography and was also nominated for Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction. The vintage German AO poster (34 inches by 47 inches) for a 1965 re-release of the stylish classic film is in very fine condition and is carefully linen-backed to protect the integrity of the artwork design. The poster shows fold wear such as thru the images of the stars and some minor paper loss along the bottom border. The linen has been trimmed to the border. it should be noted that, either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so the poster would fit into a frame. This poster will be rolled when it is sent. This stylish and sophisticated poster displays very well and the detailed artistic images of the two main movie stars, Grace Kelly and Cary Grant, are exquisite and stunningly gorgeous.
