Description: Rare Polish SVT40 rifle bayonet. Theses bayonets were believed to be either produced or re-manufactured Soviet SVT40 bayonets for the Polish Infantry Officers Cadet schools in the 1950's.The bayonets feature a scabbard and frog unique only to the Polish pattern of SVT40 bayonet with distinct light wood handle scales. Marked "ZMPT" for Zakłady Metalowe Przemysłu Terenowego which was a metal manufacturing plant in Poland. The bayonet appears to be in unissued condition with some minor blemishes in the bluing from storage with some minor spots of surface oxidation and some minor spots of verdigris on the hardware of the frog from longterm storage. The leather of the frog is still nice and pliable although there is a small bit of separation between the leather and the rivets on the rear of the frog as noted in the last photo; which is just purely cosmetic (riveted connection is still solid).Numbered "4865" on the blade. Very hard to find bayonet. Thanks for looking.
