Description: This rare bone china trinket box was manufactured by Minton of England. The box was made to commemorate the Coronation of HM King Edward VIII on May 12th 1937. As we all know this never took place due to the Kings abdication. The lid of the box shows a white 'pate sur pate' portrait of the King set against a pale blue ground and framed by the Coronation details. Below the portrait are the initial 'RB'. The white china base shows a series of clovers, thistles and roses around the body. This box was commissioned by W.H Plummer & Co of NY by Minton for the event. Box is hand numbered 91 in a limited edition of 500. Box measures 2-1/2" tall x 3-1/8" in dia. It comes in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Buyer pays only actual shipping costs with no added charges. Shipping within the USA will be $7.00 using USPS mailing service. Good Luck !!
