Description: Hi all! This is a wonderful tiny tooth, most likely of a juvenile, from the infamous American Dome Headed dinosaur Pachycephalosaurus from the equally infamous Hell Creek Formation in Montana, USA! These strange herbivores, nearly 15 feet long and one thousand pounds, roamed North America from 70 to 65 million years ago. They fed on soft leaves, seeds, and fruit, slicing them up with their (surprisingly) small leaf-shaped serrated teeth. Once a tooth was worn down, they would spit it out and grow a new one, not unlike sharks. This is one of those spit teeth! The tooth is about .08 inches and comes in a 1 inch gem jar for easy display and transport! Makes a great addition to any fossil collection or gift for dinosaur and science enthusiasts! A juvenile Pachycephalosaurus was a bit different looking than an adult. The dome had not yet developed and instead there were numerous spikes. Numerous specimens of juvenile Pachys were identified as new species before being recognized as juvenile Pachycephalosaurus. Now invalid species include Stygimoloch and Dracorex.
