Description: This rare antique yellow ware pottery bank from 1840s England features a rustic Georgian-style bank building with a Rockingham brown glazed roof. The small size of the bank ( 3” High) makes it a nice addition to any collection of Staffordshire area folk pottery or money boxes. It was made by an anonymous potter in England around the 1840s. It is a crude little child’s toy. It always amazes me that any of these folk pottery banks survive, since most would have been broken open to obtain the pennies. English, circa 1845 Good condition except for a glaze chip on the inner side of bank’s foot rim. 3” High 3.7” Wide 2.6” Deep
