Likely made in New England the 1820s, it features a nice old Mahogany patina and its original mirror glass held in place by bands of embossed brass. This use of brass trimming is more often found on small frames for portrait miniatures or silhouettes. Most of these frames hold images drawn, painted or cut during the Federal period. This handsome mirror is perfect for any collector of early American antiques, and its traditional hornbook shape makes it special. Condition: fine as found state. The back reveals vertical saw marks and the brass trim is secured with small cut nails. 10” Long 3.6” Wide
