RANGER RCI-2950, RCI-2970, Galaxy, etc Amplifier keying relay buffer interface

Description: This unique product will finally allow your Ranger or other* radio to key an external RF Power Amplifier! As you know, there are no external contacts for keying an amplifier on many radios, so we developed this very sensitive circuit that will take the switched voltage found inside your radio and provide a relay output closure to key an external power amplifier with relay keying contacts when you key your microphone. NOTE: YOU must locate and solder or otherwise connect the included cable to the correct place to pick up the voltage on transmit that will activate the RBI-1HS. We also include an RCA-RCA cable to go to most amplifier T/R keying circuits. On OUR test RCI-2950 radio, the correct wire is shown in the pictures. Pictures are of RCI-2950 YOU MUST check YOUR radio connection point has <1 VDC on RX and >3 VDC on TX. On my test RCI-2950 radio the point we selected (YELLOW wire as shown) has 0 vdc on RX and about 4.8 VDC on TX. I do NOT know if all Ranger radios look the same, YOU must use your voltmeter to be certain the point you select has near 0 vdc on receive and above 3 vdc on transmit. I do not know for sure if the RCI-2970 has the exact same connection point as the RCI-2950 BEFORE you buy for ANY radio, check with your voltmeter to see if you can locate the correct connection point. This listing is for our Radiodan RBI-1HS relay buffer interface and the proper cables to connect to your RANGER RCI-2950 radio and will key any amplifier with relay keying contacts. The RBI-1HS is isolated by an internal 1 megohm resistor, so there is NO POSSIBILITY of damage to your radio from our circuit if properly installed! The only way any damage could occur is if you did not install this correctly! ONLY YOU are 100% responsible for correct connection, we WILL NOT be liable for any damage to your radio for any reason! Our box will draw <0.1 ma from your radio connection point and will key any amplifier. A completely unique product!
