Description: I have for sale the Assistant Sergeant At Arms medal for the 1916 Progressive political party national convention that was held in Chicago. The Progressive party was a third party in the United States formed in 1912 by president Theodore Roosevelt after he lost the presidential nomination of the Republican party to William Howard Taft. The Progressive party also had the nickname Bull Moose Party. The party dissolved in 1920. The medal has three parts. The top pinback bar looks to be bronze and its in the shape of the capitol dome and looks to be in a high grade circulated condition. On the top bar in blue enamel with gold letters, it reads ASSISTANT SERGEANT AT ARMS. The small red, white and blue ribbon is faded and worn, especially where the middle of the top bar meets the ribbon. The bottom medal looks to be bronze, it is 1 11/16 inches in diameter and its in a high grade circulated condition. The medal shows three bust, George Washington, Abreham Lincoln and the third one. The text of the medal reads PROGRESSIVE NATIONAL CONVENTION - CHICAGO - 1916. The complete medal is 4 1/4 inches long.
