Description: Post US Civil War Model 1860 GAR Staff & Field Sword with Scabbard. No makers marks. The grip is tight, the pommel cap will move a very tiny bit if you force it, and the guard wiggles. The grip is 98% complete and the twisted wire is 100% complete. The fixed clamshell has "GAR" with an anchor, crossed rifles, and crossed swords. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, one nick, and it has some light age spots scattered. The blade is the standard Staff & Field style not the typical GAR style. The scabbard is solid with no dents, and it has surface rust freckles mainly on the upper half. The washer is missing. Length of the blade measures 28 3/4" (5/8" wide x 1/8" thick), length of the sword is 33 7/8", and in the scabbard it is 36 7/8". Check out my other War items!!
