Description: Pine Tree Tar Cordial Phila L.Q.C. Wishart's Antique Amber Bottle Embossed Tree Almost 2.5" x almost 2.5" x 9.75" 1 lb .1 oz In the Library of Congress website, I found a neat old add from1868 detailing Wishart’s products. “It is a good remedy for chronic croup and dypyheria, which is sending thousands and thousands of children to a premature grave. It can be cured by Dr. Wishart’s Pine Tree Tar Cordial.” The text is extensive, flowery, and pretty dramatic. There’s even an illustration of a sick man. This product was created in 1859 and was produced into the 1900’s. I believe this bottle is from the later 1800’s. Please use your own judgement in dating the bottle. Most of the bottles for the product appear to be blue or green in color. The bottle has normal wear from age and use. There’s some paint/marking. On one edge of the bottom there’s visible damage to the glass but only maybe a slight chip accompanying it. It’s hard to describe and doesn’t detract from the bottle.
