Some scuffs on the exterior, mostly the back and top. The interior battery compartment looks pretty clean-no evidence of deterioration from battery chemicals. No dents. A battery is NOT included with the unit. Unit tested, appears to be functioning properly-the "operational light" blinks and good readings were obtained on our electric fence tester. [I was unable to capture a satisfactory image of the operational light blinking.] UPDATE: 12/26/23 An inquiry to the company confirms the unit can be updated to solar by adding the #920 solar panel.
