Pabst Extract framed art print. 1914 Edwardian woman, flapper, C. Allan Gilbert

Description: Here is a framed art print featuring a slender woman in a full-length orange gown. The print is not labeled or signed anywhere, but my research shows that this image was used for the 1914 edition of the Pabst Extract American Girl Calendar, made by Pabst Brewing Company. The artist for the 1914 calendar was C. Allan Gilbert, also known as Charles Allan Gilbert. The overall condition of this item is great. The frame is a medium shade of brown with shiny, coppery highlights that go very nicely with the woman's orange dress and red hair. The brown paper on the back of the frame is still intact. It does have one small area where the surface has been scuffed to the point of producing a superficial tear, but the paper has not been penetrated all the way through. The frame is 12.25 inches long and 5 and 5/8ths inches wide. It is about 3/4 or 7/8ths of an inch thick. It weighs 12 oz. The actual dimensions of the picture within the mat are 8.5 inches X 2 inches. Pabst Extract was a malt-based product that was touted as "The Best Tonic." The original Pabst Extract American Girl calendars were about three feet long and seven inches wide, with a full-color image of a woman on the front and a twelve-month calendar and advertising copy on the back. The picture I have here is apparently a miniature version of one of the yard-long prints, so it's just as beautiful, but much easier to make room for in your home, and more affordably priced. I have never tried to take the frame apart for a better look at the artwork, so I do not know if there is a calendar on the reverse side. It is most likely a reproduction of the front side of the 1914 image with nothing on the back. Please see all 11 photos attached to this listing.
