It reads, "Our" Dog Book the first copy to Mary E. Sheperd with love John Martin." Under the inscription in another persons handwriting, which from the note written one would assume it was written by Mary E. Sheperd whom the author originally gave the book to, is written, "Now gives to my good friend Mary Jack May 3rd, 46" Condition: The hardback cover has rubbing and wear to all corners. The cloth on the front spine crease is cracked, it is chipped on the top and bottom spine ends, and the cloth on the corners is worn. The green front end paper has been torn out but is included. The front and back hinge are both breaking with the paper over them chipped. The pages are all tight in the binding. The pages are in excellent condition, no writing, tears or creases.
