Description: A rare and important C and I lithograph depicting the California gold rush of the mid 1800’s. Number 11 on the most recent Best 50 list of small folio Curriers that numbered in the thousands. Terrific detail showing the different methods used to extract gold. Some present day gold seekers use these same methods today. Condition is good, especially considering this is a genuine original published in 1871. It presents very well in its period lemon gold frame (12 1/4” x 16 1/4”) but has some of the expected imperfections as shown. The short margin tears do not extend into the image. Old acidic repair tape has been removed and replaced with archival tape. A new dust cover was added after the pictures were taken. Overall, a nice example of this highly collected but seldom seen lithograph. Please email any questions.
