Description: Martin Dargevics was an exceptional abstract artist who followed his inner spirit while creating his masterpieces. He suffered from a long, debilitating battle with cancer and was unable to continue selling his pieces at his yearly art fairs throughout the Midwest for 20 years. He died in May 2024 leaving behind many of his pieces not seen by the public. This is one of them. Most often, he did not title his work because he wanted the viewer to be free to see what they wanted. This piece, MD08, features Martin’s artistic use not only of acrylic paint but also plaster to create a 3D effect. It was then coated with epoxy resin to protect the embellishment and make the colors pop. This piece measures 20” x 10” and is on a gallery-wrapped canvas. It has one sawtooth hanger on the back. Martin signed all his pieces on the back to avoid disturbing the art presentation.
