Description & Condition: Art Collection of Carl Pugliese Carl was an American painter and illustrator who was friends with other illustrators including Norman Price, Tom Lovell, Dean Cornwell, Howard Pyle, J C Leyendecker and many others. Robert Horvath American artist and illustrator Up for sale is this original signed and dated 1975 watercolor on paper illustration painting depicting a bi-plane in the clouds. This is Spad XIII fighter of legendary WW1 ace Eddie Rickenbacker. Commander of the 94th Aero Squadron and Medal of Honor winner, his score of 26 kills was unequalled by any other American pilot until World War Two. V. It was a gift from the artist to his friend Carl Pugliese in 1975. It measures 20" by 14 1/2" and is in very good condition.
