Description: Fascinating children's book in Russian dated from the Cold War era 1973. I don't read Russian but the 17 page book speaks for itself. The book is in poor-used condition, heavy ae tanning of the paper, spots and smudges in the text. No writing or highlighting in the text. Young boys march with toy rifles fitted with bayonets sporting red flags, a smaller boy acts as the drummer boy. The commander carries a leather satchel and a target, in addition to his rifle. The girls are all equipped with nurse's bags and stand in front of a gas mask. They carry a "wounded" boy, wrapped in heavy bandages, on a stretcher. The boys and their dog capture a pair of enemies, one of whom is crying big crocodile tears. The victors then make and man their own machine gun. Victory having been won, they march proudly away.
