Description: Original oil on canvas by Maine painter Isabelle Feehan (1909-1994). This oil depicts the rugged rocks and surf of the Maine coast and is signed by the artist at bottom left. It measures 20 x 24 inches, with frame it is approx. 26 x 30 inches. It is an oil on canvas mounted on stretcher and is in a period distress painted frame with canvas liner that seems to be original to the work. Painting shows a tiny bit of flaking just above the topmost breaker, otherwise in excellent original condition. Isabelle A. Feehan (1909-1994) was an American painter known for landscapes and seascapes. Born in New Jersey, she was living in the Bucks County region of Pennsylvania in the 1930s and 40s. Sometime thereafter she resettled in Portland, Maine and was an exhibitor at The Art Center of Ogunquit.
