Description: Hi, and, thank you for stopping by to look at this Stanley Bailey Number 5 Smooth Bottom Jack Plane. The plane has scratches, dings, discoloration, some japanning loss, some pitting on the sole/sides, and other metal parts. This is a later type 7 with a corrugated plane. As you can tell there are some problems with this plane. The tote, the original was prepared in the middle and the horn is chipped off on top. It also has some carved initials on the side. The front knob obviously is not original. The lever cap's leading edge is chipped up, but works. Also the lateral adjustment lever, on the frog comes off. It will stay on, that comes off fairly easily. It's a little bent up to, but can be straightened out. The blade doesn't have a whole lot of metal left but it's still a little bit usable, though it would need tuning up. This is definitely an early Stanley Corrugated plane, and does have potential. I haven't seen too many of these being the type 7 very often. I've tried to list everything, that I could see that was wrong with the plane. The plane could use a little more cleaning. Please look over the photos carefully. All moving parts work. Lightly cleaned, and oiled. If you have any questions, please contact me through, the eBay sellers portal for questions. Items usually shipped next business day. Again thank you so very much for stopping by, and looking. I wish you a wonderful day or evening!
