Description: Nippon Hand Painted Floral Cobalt Yellow & Gold Pedestal Tea Cup & Saucer Antique Japanese porcelain pedestal tea cup and saucer. Decorated with hand painted flowers in pink, purple, blue, and yellow framed by yellow and gold scrollwork alternating with gold medallions framed in yellow, gold, and green circles over a cobalt band with gold net/lattice overlay. With cobalt along the edge with gold scrollwork. Gold gilding along the edge. Unmarked. Probably made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain. Circa 1891 to 1921. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. The cup measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/4 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
